On November 27, 2025, Canada-Poland Chamber of Commerce successfully hosted the Poland–Canada Conference: New Economic Opportunities and Transatlantic Partnership at Hyatt Place Toronto/Mississauga Centre. The conference was co-organized with Bliżej Polski Foundation (Poland) and delivered under the 2025 program of the Chancellery of the Senate of the Republic of Poland.
The conference brought together approximately 60 selected participants, including business leaders, entrepreneurs, chamber representatives, and institutional partners, with a shared objective of strengthening economic cooperation between Poland and Canada. The program focused on practical business, trade, and investment opportunities, including the use of CETA as a framework for transatlantic expansion.
The event opened with welcome remarks by Michael Miasek, President of Canada-Poland Chamber of Commerce, followed by opening remarks from Marek Ciesielczuk, Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Toronto.
The program featured expert contributions from Marcin Pytkowski on doing business in Poland, Prof. Paweł Rowiński on connecting science and business, and Wojciech Śniegowski on cross-Atlantic business experience. Panel discussions included perspectives from Alexandra Cole, Vitek Manitius, Waldemar Halek, Andrew Sochaj, Dave Farmery, and Paweł Udrycki, among others.
A central panel discussion, Expanding from Canada to Poland – Capital, People & Goods in Motion, moderated by Urszula Terlecki from the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), brought together legal, logistics, and M&A perspectives on market entry and cross-border growth.
The afternoon program continued with a panel on Success Stories of Expansion to Poland, moderated by Michael Miasek in his capacity as CEO of VacAero International and President of Canada-Poland Chamber of Commerce, highlighting real-world executive experience of Canadian companies operating in Poland.
In his closing remarks, Waldemar Halek, Vice President of Canada-Poland Chamber of Commerce, summarized key themes emerging from the conference. These included Poland’s role as a strategic entry point to the European Union, the complementary strengths of Canadian and Polish industries, the importance of talent mobility alongside trade, and the critical role of networks and relationships in successful international expansion. He also acknowledged the financial support of the Senate of the Republic of Poland, whose contribution made the conference possible.
As part of the conference, Canada-Poland Chamber of Commerce and Bliżej Polski Foundation prepared a comprehensive publication titled Poland–Canada: New Economic Opportunities and Transatlantic Partnership. Developed specifically for this event, the publication serves as a practical reference on Poland–Canada economic cooperation, with a focus on CETA, investment frameworks, legal and tax considerations, and priority sectors for Canadian companies considering expansion to Poland.
The publication is available in English and Polish.
Looking ahead, Canada-Poland Chamber of Commerce announced its intention to expand the conference into a pan-Canadian initiative in 2026, engaging partners and participants across multiple provinces to further strengthen Canada–Poland economic cooperation on a national scale.
The Chamber extends its appreciation to its co-organizer and partners, including the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Toronto, Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), EUCCAN, VAC AERO International, Polimex Forwarding Corp., Green and Spiegel LLP, and Transworld Business Advisors of Ontario, for their support and collaboration.
